Working Women

Women with any authority were prioresses of covents or queens. The most important duties of a woman were her family’s social status. Lower class women worked at home or in trades. Most upper class women planned meals, supervised servants, and ordered supplies. While her husband was away she defended the manor and took care of it. FINALLY a woman was in charge! For fun upper class women did needlework or played instruments. But usually as you got older you did not earn as much money because most work was physical work and as you get older this becomes more difficult.

Another job of the women was to have kids from the time they were married until they were 30. Now thats alot of kids! Women were also expected to teach young girls how to be a lady.
